Smartlead Pricing 2026: Plans, Mailbox Limits, Add-Ons and What Teams Really Pay

Publish date: Oct 27, 2026
Smartlead costs $39 to $379 a month on monthly billing, across four plans: Base, Pro, Unlimited Smart and Unlimited Prime. Billed yearly, the same plans cost $32 to $315 a month. The plan is rarely the whole bill.
On Spona's sales calls, prospects described Smartlead setups of 20 to 120 mailboxes. Priced with Smartlead's own mailboxes and domains, those setups cost 2.0 to 2.7 times the plan, by our arithmetic. This smartlead.ai pricing guide goes plan by plan, then adds the mailboxes, domains and data behind the real bill. It ends with the cost per reply and per booked meeting, the trial limits and the refund rules.

How much does Smartlead cost per month?

Four plans, priced by send volume and verified-lead allowance, not by seats or mailboxes. Every plan includes unlimited email accounts, within Smartlead's fair use policy, and warmup.
| Plan | Monthly | Billed yearly, per month | Sends a month | Active contacts | Verified prospect emails | Also included |
| Base | $39 | $32 | 6,000 | 2,000 | 2,000 for a $59 a month add-on | Foundation warmup pool; no CRM |
| Pro | $94 | $78 | 90,000 | 30,000 | 30,000 for a $59 a month add-on | Growth warmup pool, CRM, API and webhooks |
| Unlimited Smart | $174 | $144 | 150,000 | Unlimited | 50,000 included | Premium warmup pool, CRM, API, customer success calls |
| Unlimited Prime | $379 | $315 | 500,000 | Unlimited | 170,000 included | Three SmartServers, three client workspaces, dedicated manager, private Slack |
The pricing page labels its yearly toggle "17% OFF". The yearly totals are $390 for Base and $3,775.20 for Unlimited Prime. Enterprise plans carry custom send volumes and verified-lead allowances, with no list price.
All Smartlead AI pricing is in US dollars, and the terms add tax on top where it applies. For UK buyers, that can mean VAT. The lemlist pricing and Instantly pricing posts take the other two sequencers apart the same way.
Which Smartlead plan fits your send volume?
Divide each plan's price by its send cap and the Smartlead plans look very different. Base is the most expensive plan per email, by a wide margin.
| Plan | Cost per 1,000 sends at full use, monthly | Billed yearly | Fits |
| Base | $6.50 | $5.33 | One rep testing cold email, up to 2,000 contacts |
| Pro | $1.04 | $0.87 | A team sending up to 90,000 emails a month that needs the CRM |
| Unlimited Smart | $1.16 | $0.96 | Teams with more than 30,000 active contacts |
| Unlimited Prime | $0.76 | $0.63 | Agencies that need client workspaces and dedicated IPs |
Two counters run at the same time. A lead credit is a unique stored contact, and an email credit is each email sent. Smartlead's pricing FAQ calls them "separate counters". You can run out of one with plenty of the other left.
The contact counter is the one that catches teams out. Every uploaded contact counts as an active lead until you delete its campaign. Lead credits do not reset each month. A Pro account that uploads 10,000 new contacts a month reaches its 30,000 cap after three months unless old campaigns go.
The CRM starts on Pro. So do the API and webhooks. Upgrading mid-cycle costs only the difference between the two plans.
Smartlead add-on pricing: verified emails, mailboxes and tests
Six add-ons change the bill. Five of them are optional. The sixth, mailboxes and domains, is a cost every sender pays somewhere, either to Smartlead or to a mailbox provider.
| Add-on | Price |
| Verified prospect emails | $59 a month for 2,000 on Base or 30,000 on Pro; included on Unlimited Smart and Prime |
| SmartSenders mailboxes, Google or Outlook | $4.50 a mailbox a month plus $13 a domain a year |
| SmartSenders mailboxes, pre-warmed | $9 a mailbox a month plus $18 a domain a year |
| Email verification | 6,000 credits for $16.50 one-time or $15 a month; 96,000 for $242 or $220 |
| SmartDelivery placement tests | $49, $174 or $599 a month |
| SmartServers, dedicated IP | $39 a server a month; three included on Prime |
| Client workspace, white label | $29 a month each from Pro; three included on Prime |
The $59 add-on buys verified prospect emails from Smartlead's own database. Several pricing teardowns call it a warmup fee. It is not. Smartlead's FAQ says every plan includes warmup at no extra cost.
On Base the add-on works out at about $0.03 per verified email. On Pro, where the same fee covers 30,000 emails, it is about $0.002.
Verification is cheaper than most teardowns say, too. Smartlead's pricing page lists 6,000 credits at $15 a month. The one-time price is $16.50, not the $32 some teardowns repeat. The tiers run to 960,000 credits for $1,846 a month.
Mailboxes follow their own billing rules. Smartlead bills a SmartSenders mailbox monthly, without proration when you delete it mid-month. Domains are a one-time yearly payment. Pre-warmed mailboxes cost double and skip the two to three week warmup period.
Smartlead cost for real teams: plan plus mailboxes and domains
Smartlead came up on 7 of 52 sales calls Spona recorded in recent months. Three of those calls put a figure on it. The quotes ran from $94 to $379 a month. The setups behind them ran from 20 to 120 mailboxes.
All three figures match list prices. They were vendor quotes, not paid contracts, and two were verbal. Treat them as what teams plan to pay.

Add Smartlead's own mailboxes at $4.50 each and one domain per three mailboxes at $13 a year. By our arithmetic, the bill grows to 2.0 to 2.7 times the plan. The smallest setup comes to about $192 a month, the largest to about $962. Yearly billing takes $16 to $64 off each total.
Those setups are not unusual. Smartlead's own benchmark puts the median account at 20 mailboxes. The largest 25% of accounts run 60 or more. The same page notes that guides often plan two or three mailboxes per domain, which is where the domain counts above come from.
Each setup assumes 1,500 emails a mailbox a month, which is 50 a day with no weekends off. Smartlead asks senders to keep each mailbox at 50 cold emails a day or fewer. The median mailbox sends 14. Send on weekdays only and the smallest setup needs 28 mailboxes, not 20.
Your own Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 mailboxes connect free. Then the mailbox provider bills you instead, and someone on your team manages the domains. That is the cheaper route on paper and the more expensive one in hours.
Smartlead cost per reply and per booked meeting
This is an illustration, and every figure in it is our arithmetic. The assumptions: 10,000 new contacts a month, three emails each, so 30,000 sends. The stack is Pro on monthly billing with 20 SmartSenders mailboxes and their 7 domains. That is $191.58 a month before data.
Spona prices come from its pricing page, plus the one-time session fee of $8 to $10. Reply rates come from Smartlead's State of Cold Email. A typical sender earns 1 reply per 135 contacts. That is 74 replies from this list.
Meeting rates come from one agency's data. Belkins reports an appointment rate of 0.2% per step from the third email, about twice the first two. For a three-step sequence, that is about 4 meetings per 1,000 contacts, by our arithmetic.
| Data path, 10,000 contacts a month | Data cost a month | Total a month | Per reply, typical sender | Per meeting, 4 per 1,000 contacts |
| A. Smartlead verified prospect emails | $59 | $250.58 | $3.38 | $6.26 |
| B. Spona Bulk Search, $0.008 to $0.09 a lead | $88 to $910 | $279.58 to $1,101.58 | $3.77 to $14.87 | $6.99 to $27.54 |
| C. Spona Standard Search, email only, $0.024 to $0.07 a lead | $248 to $710 | $439.58 to $901.58 | $5.93 to $12.17 | $10.99 to $22.54 |
| D. Spona Deep Search, $0.48 to $2.00 a lead | $4,808 to $20,010 | $4,999.58 to $20,201.58 | $67 to $273 | $125 to $505 |
Path A wins on cost per contact, and it is not close. The top tenth of senders earn 1 reply per 38 contacts. For them path A costs $0.95 a reply.
The reply and meeting rates come from different datasets, so do not chain them. The meeting column is a separate estimate, not a share of the replies. Each Spona low end assumes Enterprise credits at $0.008, on an annual contract from $20,000.
Deep Search at 10,000 contacts a month is the wrong size. Its case is a shorter list. Take 1,000 Deep Search leads a month on Base, with three mailboxes and one domain. That stack costs $542 to $2,064 a month.
At the same meeting rate it is $135 to $516 a meeting. Matching path A's $6.26 a meeting would take 87 meetings from that list. That is roughly 22 times the benchmark rate.
Per-lead data pays only when a sharper list changes the rate itself: fewer contacts, more of them in market. Treat the difference as a test to run, not a saving to book.
Smartlead's own data stops at the reply. Its touchpoints study reports about 25 replies per 1,000 contacts from a three-email sequence and says so: "These figures stop at the reply." The cold email statistics post collects the published reply and meeting benchmarks in one place. Where a team weighs an all-in-one database seat against this stack, the Apollo.io pricing post covers what a seat with credits costs.
Does Smartlead have a free trial?
Yes. The Smartlead free trial runs 14 days and asks for no credit card. It caps at 2,500 sends and 1,250 contacts. Follow-ups and bounces count toward the sends; warmup emails do not. You can connect as many mailboxes as you like, and only white labeling stays off.
At the end of the trial you pick one of the four plans. The pricing page banner offers "50% off on your first month on any plan". That makes Pro $47 and Unlimited Prime $189.50 for the first month, by our arithmetic. The banner names plans only, not mailboxes, domains or the $59 data add-on.
Smartlead discounts, refunds and cancellation rules
Smartlead publishes two discounts: 17% for yearly billing and 50% off the first month. There is no lifetime deal and no coupon code on the pricing page. The billing rules sit in the refund policy, the terms and the cancellation guide, and they run on a clock.

A new subscription qualifies for a refund within 7 days of payment. A renewal qualifies within 3 days, for the latest renewal only, when the product went unused and the reason is valid. A reminder email arrives before each auto-renewal.
Add-ons never qualify: the refund policy lists SmartSenders, SmartInfra, SmartDelivery, SmartProspects, email verification and the SmartDialer as non-refundable. The prorated charge for an upgrade is final; a downgrade turns the unused time into credit. "Not getting desired results" does not qualify. Approved refunds show within 3 to 5 working days, and live chat answers refund questions.
Under the terms, plans auto-renew and tax comes on top of the list price. Fee increases need 30 days' notice. Except for rises in third-party costs, they come at most once in 12 months and never in the first term. After termination, Smartlead may delete your data one month later.
To cancel on Base or Pro, open Settings, then Subscription, then Cancel. Custom plans cancel through support. Access runs to the end of the paid cycle. Smartlead deletes SmartSenders mailboxes one day before the renewal date, so export anything you need first.
"Unlimited" carries a condition. The fair use policy lets Smartlead limit warmup it judges abusive, and the only hard number in it is 30,000 dialer minutes a month.
Smartlead vs Spona: who should add per-lead data

Spona is not a sending tool. You describe your ideal customer in a chat, the AI mines 40+ sources, verifies every lead and delivers a scored list in about 4 minutes. You pay per lead, in credits, and every search starts with a free sample. The price per lead depends on the search type and the plan, and shows at checkout.
| Spona search type | Price per lead | What you get |
| Bulk Search | $0.008 to $0.09 | Basic filters, large volumes for broad email or LinkedIn outreach |
| Standard Search, email only | $0.024 to $0.07 | Company and person filters, for targeted email outreach |
| Standard Search, email and mobile | $0.28 to $0.55 | The same, with a mobile number |
| Deep Search | $0.48 to $2.00 | Scored, verified and enriched in real time, for highly targeted outreach |
Each new search session costs a one-time 1,000 credits. That is $8 to $10, depending on the plan. Credits cost $0.008 to $0.01 each.
The Free plan carries 3,000 one-time credits, and paid plans run from $99 a month. Unused credits expire at the start of each billing period.
Bounces are why a Smartlead team would pay for data on top of the plan. Smartlead's benchmark puts the typical bounce rate at 1.54%, with a quarter of senders at 3.21% or more. The same page draws the danger line at 2%. Its auto-protection pauses a campaign at a bounce threshold you set, for example 3%, and the plan fee does not pause with it.
One Smartlead customer in Spona's records switched its data source to Spona. It sent 8,000 emails in each of two four-week periods, before and after. The hard bounce rate went from 2.80% to 0.90%. The before rate sat above Smartlead's 2% danger line.
Their reason, in their words: "We needed fresh niche records before each campaign." It is one customer. The figures come from its own sequencer export, and the change proves no cause.
Where Smartlead is stronger: its included data costs less per contact than any Spona search, at $0.002 each on Pro. Its homepage says it verifies each prospect across three independent sources. Spona does not send, warm up or rotate mailboxes. There is no native Smartlead connector: you move leads over by CSV on any paid plan or by API on the Expert plan.
Where Spona fits: niche or local ideal customer profiles that a general database covers thinly, and teams whose legacy exports bounce. Buy fewer, sharper leads for those lists and keep Smartlead's data for broad ones. For the sending tools themselves, the best email prospecting tools and best lemlist alternatives posts cover Smartlead's peers. The email list cleaning post covers what to do with the exports you already have.

Smartlead pricing FAQ
What does 10,000 emails a month cost on Smartlead?
Base caps at 6,000 sends, so 10,000 emails need Pro. That is $94 a month, or $78 billed yearly, and with your own mailboxes it is the whole Smartlead bill. Ten SmartSenders mailboxes at 50 sends a weekday add $45 a month, plus four domains. That is about $143 a month, or $0.014 per email, by our arithmetic.
What is the cheapest Smartlead plan?
Base, at $39 a month or $32 billed yearly. It sends 6,000 emails a month to 2,000 active contacts and has no CRM. It is also the most expensive plan per email, at $6.50 per 1,000 sends. Pro is $1.04.
Is there a Smartlead lifetime deal or discount code?
No. The pricing page lists two discounts: 17% for yearly billing and 50% off the first month on any plan. The page publishes no lifetime deal or coupon code. The 50% banner names plans only, not mailboxes, domains or add-ons.
How do I cancel a Smartlead subscription?
On Base or Pro, go to Settings, then Subscription, then Cancel. Custom plans cancel through support. You keep access until the end of the paid cycle, and Smartlead deletes SmartSenders mailboxes one day before the renewal date. New subscriptions qualify for a refund within 7 days of payment; add-ons never do.
Does Smartlead charge per user or per mailbox?
Neither. Smartlead prices by monthly send volume and active contacts, and every plan includes unlimited email accounts under its fair use policy. Seats do not change the price. Mailboxes cost money only when you buy them from Smartlead through SmartSenders, at $4.50 a month each plus the domain.
What do Smartlead reviews say about pricing?
Smartlead scores 4.5 on G2. On Capterra it scores 4.3 from 7 reviews. Value for money there scores 4.7.
On Trustpilot the TrustScore is 2.8 from 137 reviews. Those split 44% five-star and 49% one-star. The one-star reviews mostly cite hard cancellations, billing problems and slow support.
