People Data Labs Alternatives: 9 B2B Data Providers Compared by Coverage, API Access and Price

Publish date: Oct 26, 2026
People Data Labs fills the work email field on 3.4% of its 2.47 billion person records. Its self-serve person plan starts at $98 a month for 350 credits.
The right People Data Labs alternative depends on what you build. For a product, Coresignal, Crustdata, Enrich Layer and Bright Data sell raw records by API or file. For a sales team, Spona, Apollo, RocketReach, ZoomInfo and Clay deliver contacts. This guide compares the nine People Data Labs competitors on coverage, API access and price, with Spona's fill rates beside PDL's.

People Data Labs pricing and coverage: what you are replacing

People Data Labs sells person and company data through APIs and bulk files, with licensed feeds delivered via AWS, GCP or Snowflake. Two public price lists exist, one for person data and one for company data. Everything above self-serve volume is a custom annual contract.
| PDL plan | Price | What you get | Per record |
| Person, Free | $0 | Up to 100 credits a month; email, phone and address fields obfuscated | n/a |
| Person, Self-Serve | From $98 a month | 350 credits a month; $940 a year on annual billing | $0.28 ($0.22 annual) |
| Company, Free | $0 | Up to 100 records a month | n/a |
| Company, Full APIs | From $100 a month | 1,000 records a month; $960 a year on annual billing | $0.10 ($0.08 annual) |
| Bulk Data | Custom | Annual contract, flat-file delivery | Unpublished |
PDL bills per match, so a 404 costs nothing. The `required` parameter limits charges to responses that hold the fields you asked for. Search bills per record retrieved.
Coverage is where the questions start. PDL's own stats put job title on 22.7% of person records and mobile phone on 20.2%. On the company side, 76.9 million records carry a website 48.1% of the time. Record counts are large; filled fields are rarer.
9 People Data Labs alternatives and competitors, by use case
The best alternatives to People Data Labs split by who consumes the data. The first four replace PDL inside a product: raw records by API or file, priced per credit or per file. The next five serve a sales team: contacts inside a tool reps can use, or a workflow that builds them.
Coverage figures below are each vendor's own claim. For the wider market, see our guide to B2B data providers.
1. Coresignal: company, employee and job data by API

Coresignal sells 72M+ company and 915M+ employee records, plus job postings, through self-serve APIs and dataset files. A 7-day trial comes with 2,000 credits. Paid plans start at Mini, $49 a month for 2,500 credits. Elite costs $5,000 a month, and yearly billing takes 10% off.
A core company record costs 10 credits and a full record 20. Contact enrichment costs 10 credits per email found. Pick Coresignal over PDL when you want employee and job-posting records by API, with a price list you can read. PDL still holds the larger person file.
2. Crustdata: real-time people and company data by API

Crustdata claims 1B+ people and 60M+ companies. It says records refresh every 1 to 30 days. You get a self-serve API key with $20 of free credits.
People enrichment starts at 1 credit and companies at 2. A work email adds 1 credit and a phone adds 2. Search costs 0.03 credits per result, and an empty search is free.
Crustdata publishes no dollar price per credit. Enterprise plans with the real-time API start "at four figures a month". Pick it when an agent or product needs fresh data and you can wait for a quote.
3. Enrich Layer: per-call enrichment from $10

Enrich Layer counts 790 million global records and 70 million companies. It puts 245 million of the person records in the US. Its People, Company, Jobs, Contact and Search APIs mirror PDL's shape most closely of the nine.
Pay as you go starts at $10 for 100 credits. The $1,000 pack drops the credit to $0.0216. A found person costs 1 to 3 credits.
Annual plans start at $588 a year for 35,000 credits. The top plan prices a credit at $0.0077. Monthly and annual plans alike carry a 12-month commitment. Pick it as the closest like-for-like swap with a lower entry price, and budget for the year, not the month.
4. Bright Data: bulk datasets priced per 100,000 records

Bright Data sells pre-collected datasets from 900+ domains, including LinkedIn people and company files, plus scraper APIs. The entry tier is 100,000 records for $250, one time. That is $0.0025 a record, the lowest price in this list. Subscription plans carry a minimum monthly commitment.
The dataset is a file you load yourself, not an enrichment call that matches one of your records. Pick Bright Data when you want a large, cheap file to build on and have the engineers to clean it.
5. Spona: verified, ICP-scored contacts, API on Expert

Spona sits on the sales-team side. You describe your ideal customer in a chat; the AI mines 40+ sources, verifies every lead and delivers a scored list in about 4 minutes. You pay per lead.
Credits cost $0.008 to $0.01 each, depending on the plan. Each new search session costs a one-time 1,000 credits. A Deep Search lead, scored and verified, costs $0.48 to $2.00. A Bulk Search lead costs $0.008 to $0.09.
Enriching your own list costs 3 credits for company data and 5 for a verified email. A mobile number costs 35 credits. Every search starts with a free sample of leads.
The API sits on the Expert plan, $999 a month for 115,000 credits, and returns JSON; every paid plan exports CSV. The API schema has 21 fields. They include email status, verified date, phone type, technologies, a hiring signal with its date, the source URL and a last-checked stamp. Clay takes Spona data by CSV import on any paid plan, or by HTTP request from Expert.
On Pro and above, signals are filters you combine with the profile, such as a funding round, hiring or a technology in use. One query, US software firms funded in the last 90 days, returns 1,200 companies. Those companies carry 4,800 verified founder or finance contacts.
Another query asks for UK HubSpot users with 20 to 200 staff. It returns 5,600 companies and 14,200 verified sales or marketing contacts.
Where Spona does not fit: HubSpot is the only native integration, so Salesforce, Pipedrive, Smartlead and Instantly take data by CSV or the API. The API needs Expert.
Spona builds lists against a profile; it does not license a copy of its dataset for you to host. PDL also fills LinkedIn URL and size band on every company record, and Spona's sample does not, as the fill rates below show.
6. Apollo.io: contact database, sales app and API

Apollo claims 240M contacts and 30M companies in a platform with sequences, a dialer and a CRM. The free plan includes 900 credits per seat a year. Basic seats cost $49 a month and Professional $79, billed annually. Larger teams get a Custom quote.
An email costs 1 credit and a phone number 8. Apollo's pricing FAQ puts API access for advanced or custom integrations on Custom plans. Read the row for your plan before you build on it. Pick Apollo when reps need contacts inside an outreach tool, at about $0.02 per email credit on Basic.
Our Apollo alternatives post covers the sales-app field, and Apollo pricing explains the credits.
7. RocketReach: contact exports with an API

RocketReach claims 700 million professionals and 60 million companies. Essentials costs $399 a year for 1,200 exports. Pro costs $899 a year for 3,600 exports. Ultimate costs $1,699 for 20,000.
Team plans start at $6K a year, and you get 5 free lookups before paying. Its pricing page lists "MCP & API access", so confirm your plan includes it before you build. Pick RocketReach when a small team wants contact exports without an enterprise contract. Our RocketReach pricing post has the export math.
8. ZoomInfo: enterprise data with a usage-priced API

ZoomInfo claims 500M+ professional profiles and 122M+ company records. Its pricing page sells custom packages only. ZoomInfo prices its API, MCP and CLI "on usage, not seats" and contracts warehouse delivery "per dataset". Each export costs one credit.
No dollar figure is public, so budget for a sales cycle before a data test. Pick ZoomInfo when procurement wants one enterprise vendor for data, intent and workflow. For the rest of the field, see ZoomInfo alternatives.
9. Clay: 150+ providers, PDL included, one workflow

Clay is not a dataset. It runs enrichment across "150+ providers", and People Data Labs is one of them, paid with Clay credits or your own PDL key. That makes Clay the route for teams that keep PDL as one source and fall back to others, the pattern our waterfall enrichment guide explains.
Launch costs $167 a month on annual billing, or $185 monthly. Growth costs $446 on annual billing, or $495 monthly. HTTP API integrations start on Growth, and the Clay API itself sits on Enterprise.
Spona data enters Clay by CSV on Launch, or over HTTP on Growth with a Spona Expert plan. If Clay is the tool you are leaving instead, read Clay alternatives.

Fill rates: what PDL publishes and what Spona's records show
Record counts say how many rows a vendor holds. Fill rates say how often a field inside those rows holds a value. PDL publishes fill rates for every company field across its whole file. Spona measured the same fields on 10,000 deduplicated company records from its own data.

The denominators differ. PDL's figures cover all 76.9 million company records it holds, and Spona's cover a 10,000-record sample. A filled field is also not a correct field. Spona's revenue and headcount can be estimates, and each field carries a source and a last-checked time.
Read the chart with that in mind. Spona's records carry a domain 97% of the time, PDL's 48.1%. Business description runs 93% against 32.9%. Industry runs 94% against 75.1%.
PDL leads where it fills every row: size range and company LinkedIn URL sit at 100%. Spona's sample reaches 90% on employee band and 88% on LinkedIn URL. Funding fields are thin everywhere. Spona has a latest round on 8% of companies and PDL on 0.4%.
For what each field means and how teams use it, see firmographic data and technographic data.
What 1,000 enriched records cost with each PDL alternative
List-price math: credits used, times the credit price on the smallest plan that covers 1,000 records. Fields and match rates differ by vendor, so the numbers show the price of a call, not of a usable record.

Bright Data's $2.50 per 1,000 is a file price. The smallest file costs $250, and you clean it yourself. PDL does not publish volume prices, so a bigger contract will land below the $0.28 entry rate.
Spona's bar shows enrichment of your own records: 3 credits for company data and 5 for a verified email.
Crustdata, ZoomInfo and Clay publish no dollar rate per record, so they are missing from the chart. If the records are going into a CRM, our CRM data enrichment guide covers the cost per usable record.
How to test a People Data Labs alternative before you switch
A vendor's record count will not tell you how your list performs. Run the same records through PDL and the shortlist, and count fields.
- Pull 500 to 1,000 records from your own CRM or target list, with the company domain and a person name where you have one.
- Test on PDL's paid tier. The free tier obfuscates email, phone and address, and the Sandbox APIs return synthetic data, so neither proves coverage.
- Raise `min_likelihood`. At the default setting, PDL warns that a low-scoring match has "roughly a 10-30% chance of being the person requested". Set `required` to the fields you need, so you pay only for records that hold them.
- Batch for the 1MB cap on every API response.
- Score each vendor on fill rate per field and on usable records after your own review. Then divide spend by usable records.
One Spona customer ran that kind of review: a UK SaaS team with 51 to 200 staff, which moved from a raw data API to Spona. It bought 2,000 verified, ICP-filtered contacts. Before the move, the team's review marked 64.0% of 2,000 records usable. After it, 91.0% of a second 2,000 passed the same review.
Each review covered four weeks. This is one customer's count over two periods, and it does not show cause.

People Data Labs alternatives FAQ
Is People Data Labs free?
Partly. The person plan allows up to 100 credits a month free, with email, phone and address obfuscated. The company plan allows 100 records a month. The Sandbox returns synthetic data without using credits, which proves your integration and nothing about coverage.
How does People Data Labs get its data?
PDL says it combines "thousands of data sources": proprietary partners in HR tech, real estate tech, identity and martech, plus public records and open datasets. Deletions and opt-outs apply to the API dataset immediately.
How much does People Data Labs cost per record?
At the entry plans, a company record costs $0.10 and a person match $0.28. Annual billing takes 20% off both. That is about $0.08 and $0.22. Volume and bulk prices come by quote only.
Does People Data Labs charge when it finds no match?
Not for enrichment. The Enrichment API bills per match, and a 404 is free. Search bills per record retrieved, and the Identify API bills every call, found or not.
What is the cheapest People Data Labs alternative?
Per record, Bright Data at $0.0025 with a 100,000-record minimum. For per-call enrichment, Enrich Layer's top annual plan prices a credit at $0.0077. Per email found, Hunter's Starter plan costs about $0.02, and a search that finds none is free. The cheapest alternative to People Data Labs per usable record depends on your list, which is why step 5 above matters.
Which People Data Labs alternative has the best coverage?
No vendor leads on every field. PDL fills size range and LinkedIn URL on all its company records. Spona's sample leads on domain, industry and description, and the other vendors here headline record counts, not fill rates. Run the test above on your own records, and pick the alternative that fills the fields you sell with.
