9 Bombora Alternatives (2026): Prices, Data Sources and What Each Really Replaces

Publish date: Oct 16, 2026
Most "Bombora alternatives" run on Bombora data. 6sense, Demandbase, Apollo, Cognism and Common Room all embed Bombora's Company Surge topics, so switching to them often means buying the same signal in a different wrapper. The genuine alternatives use a different source: their own web or device network (ZoomInfo), review-site research (G2, TrustRadius) or a publisher audience (TechTarget).
We checked each option against vendor pricing pages, Bombora's own documentation and procurement data, and flagged the widely repeated claims that are wrong.
The short answer
- Keep Bombora's signal, add workflows: 6sense or Demandbase, if you can fund a full account-based marketing (ABM) platform.
- Bombora topics at a published price: Apollo (from $49 per user a month) or Common Room ($2,500 a month), with capped topic allowances.
- A different intent source: ZoomInfo for its own device-level network, G2 or TrustRadius for review-site research, TechTarget for IT buyers.
- Contacts more than intent: a lead data tool will usually move pipeline faster than any topic feed.

What Bombora actually sells
Bombora is a data company, not a platform. According to its Company Surge page, updated September 30, 2026, it monitors research across 25,300+ topics and compares each company's latest three weeks of activity against its own 12-week baseline. Bombora says 86% of its co-op data is shared exclusively with it, and it now adds B2B personas showing the roles and seniority of the people driving research. Those personas aren't names or emails, though, so you still need a contact source.
Delivery is flexible. Bombora's partner page lists 100+ integrations and notes the data can arrive as a flat file or through an API.
On price, Vendr reports a median contract of $25,000 a year across 35 purchases, ranging from $13,000 to $80,450, with average savings of 12%. Vendr also notes onboarding fees of $5,000–$20,000, annual escalators of 3–7%, and that Bombora's fiscal year ends in December, which can help in negotiation.
Timing is the most common complaint. Surge scores refresh weekly by default, and Docket notes that daily or real-time delivery is sold as a premium add-on. Because the score compares three weeks of reading against a 12-week baseline, a surge reflects research that has been building for a while, not a buyer who started looking this morning.
Many "alternatives" are Bombora in a different wrapper

Bombora's partner list shows 6sense, Apollo, Artisan and AdRoll ABM embedding Company Surge, and Toolradar's September 2026 review documents the topic caps resellers apply. That matters for two reasons:
- You may already pay for it. If you run 6sense or Demandbase, check whether Bombora topics are in your package before signing a direct contract.
- Caps are small. A reseller usually exposes 6–25 topics, not the full taxonomy. If several systems need the same weekly score, a direct license can be better value.
The 9 Bombora alternatives
1. 6sense
6sense wraps intent in predictive buying-stage scores and advertising. Its intent page lists Bombora, TechTarget, TrustRadius and G2 as partner sources alongside its own keyword tracking in 40+ languages. Vendr's median is $62,440 a year. 6sense also ended its free Sales Intelligence plan on August 12, 2026. See our 6sense pricing guide.
Best for: enterprises that want scoring and orchestration on top of intent, with a RevOps owner to run it.
2. Demandbase
Demandbase sources intent from its own ad platform's bidstream and, according to ZoomInfo's comparison, also ingests Bombora Surge, G2 and TrustRadius signals. Its strength is a native B2B ad platform and buying-group mapping. Vendr puts its median at $68,591. Our Demandbase competitors guide covers the field.
Best for: teams where account-based advertising is a major channel.
3. ZoomInfo Intent
ZoomInfo's native intent comes from its own network rather than a publisher co-op, and its Person-Level Intent can name individuals inside an account. Its pricing page says Streaming Intent is an add-on priced by keywords and accounts tracked. Vendr's median ZoomInfo contract is $33,500. For the full comparison, see 6sense vs ZoomInfo.
Best for: teams that want intent and verified contacts in one platform.
4. G2 Buyer Intent
G2 tracks companies researching your profile, category and competitors on its review sites, which is late-stage, high-conviction intent. G2's plans page shows Starter at $299 a month or $2,999 for the first year (rising to $6,000 in year two) for companies with 1–100 employees, but Buyer Intent is only an add-on to Professional and Enterprise, with no published price.
Best for: software vendors whose buyers shortlist on G2.
5. TrustRadius downstream intent
TrustRadius sells similar review-site signals: product, competitor and category activity, including pricing and comparison views. Toolradar notes TrustRadius now presents itself as HG Customer Voice, part of HG Insights, and doesn't print a price for the intent file.
Best for: vendors whose buyers already research on TrustRadius.
6. TechTarget Priority Engine
TechTarget's intent comes from registered readers of its own IT media properties, so it can show opted-in individuals. Docket reports pricing of $30,000 to $100,000+ a year per market segment, and coverage is narrow outside technology buyers.
Spotsaas cites a claimed base of 32 million registered, opt-in members across TechTarget's properties, which is why it can resolve research to named people for that audience.
Best for: IT and infrastructure vendors with long, committee-driven sales cycles.
7. Common Room
Common Room combines community, product and web signals with person-level stitching. Its pricing page lists Essential at $2,500 a month billed annually, with 6 Bombora topics (12 on Advanced, 25 on Enterprise). Toolradar notes that topic changes go through support. Zoom announced an agreement to acquire Common Room on July 2, 2026, and Common Room's site now lists Zoom products alongside its own.
Best for: product-led and community-driven teams.
8. Apollo
Apollo bundles a contact database, sequences and a dialer with a small intent allowance. Its comparison page lists Basic at $49 per user a month on annual billing with six intent topics, and Toolradar notes the Bombora allowance is 1 topic on Free, 6 on Basic and Professional, and 12 on Organization. See our Apollo pricing guide.
Best for: small teams that want intent next to contacts and outreach at a published price.
9. Cognism
Cognism's pricing page says its intent uses Bombora Company Surge, with up to 12 topics chosen from a library of more than 11,000, available only on the Pro package. Toolradar lists Pro from $17,000 a year with five seats. Our Cognism pricing guide breaks down the credits.
Best for: teams selling into Europe that need phone-verified mobiles plus a short topic list.
Bombora claims that don't hold up
| Claim | Where it appears | What primary sources show |
| Bombora tracks 12,000–21,600 topics | Cognism blog, Derrick, Docket, Apollo, Toolradar | 25,300+ topics (Bombora, Sep 30, 2026) |
| Vendr median is $57,832 or $87,500 | Derrick; CostBench | $25,000 across 35 purchases (Vendr) |
| Company Surge starts at ~$30,000 | Docket, Derrick | Lowest Vendr contract is $13,000 |
| Bombora is account-level only | Derrick, Docket, CatchIntent | Personas add role and seniority, but no names (Bombora) |
| ZoomInfo's intent is Bombora-derived | Artisan, Spotsaas | Native intent is its own network; partnership ended 2020 (ZoomInfo) |
| G2 intent costs $500–$1,000/mo on basic tiers | CatchIntent | Not available on Starter; add-on only on Professional/Enterprise (G2) |
Pricing is the messiest area. Derrick cites a Vendr median of $57,832, and CostBench claims $87,500 based on five buyer reports it attributes to Vendr. Vendr's own page shows $25,000 across 35 purchases. Docket says Company Surge "starts at approximately $30,000," which is above Vendr's median and more than double its lowest observed contract.
The ZoomInfo question is genuinely unclear. Artisan and Spotsaas describe ZoomInfo's intent as Bombora-based, while ZoomInfo's intent page describes its own network and its 2022 settlement announcement says the companies' partnership ended in early 2020. Yet ZoomInfo's own May 2026 blog lists ZoomInfo among tools where Bombora data is used. If Bombora topics matter to you, ask ZoomInfo directly whether they're available in your package.
G2 pricing estimates also vary widely. CatchIntent suggests $500–$1,000 a month on basic tiers, while Spotsaas reports $40,000–$50,000 a year for the add-on. Neither fits G2's published structure, where Buyer Intent isn't available on Starter at all.
Pricing compared

The cheapest way to test topic intent is a reseller allowance: one Apollo Basic seat costs $588 a year with six topics. Common Room's Essential plan costs $30,000 a year, more than Bombora's median direct contract, though it adds person-level signals and workflow tools. Platforms that bundle intent with ABM cost two to three times as much as Bombora alone.
Treat large Bombora quotes carefully. Vendr's own write-up describes typical contracts of $25,000 to $150,000+, yet the highest contract in its dataset is $80,450. Anything above that range is an estimate, not an observed price, so ask for a topic-by-topic breakdown before you sign.
When to keep Bombora
Bombora is still the right buy in three situations:
- Several systems need one score. A direct license can feed your CRM, ad platforms and data warehouse at once, while reseller allowances usually live inside one product.
- You sell into broad B2B categories. The co-op's breadth is strongest for horizontal topics, and thinnest for niche verticals where few publishers participate.
- You already have contact data and routing. Teams that can turn a surge into a named contact and a sequence within days get the most value.
If none of these apply, a cheaper reseller allowance or a different signal source is usually the better first step.
How to choose
Ask these questions before any demo:
- Does our current platform already include Bombora topics? Check 6sense, Demandbase, Apollo and Cognism contracts first.
- How many systems need the same score? One system suits a reseller allowance. Several suit a direct license.
- Do we need topics, or people? Topic intent tells you which accounts are researching. If reps need names and numbers this week, start with contact data.
- Where do our buyers research? Review sites point to G2 or TrustRadius. IT buyers point to TechTarget. Broad B2B categories favor co-op data.
- Who will act on the signal? Intent without a routing plan and an owner rarely pays back.
If intent data is new to you, our guide to buyer intent data explains the categories, and our 6sense alternatives list covers the ABM platforms in more depth.
When neither fits: Spona
Topic intent tells you which accounts might be researching. It doesn't hand reps a verified list of people to contact. If that's your bottleneck, Spona is a lighter way in. It doesn't replace a co-op feed, but it gets an outbound motion running without an annual contract:
- Chat to leads in about 4 minutes: describe your ideal customer and Spona's AI mines 40+ data sources to build a verified, scored list.
- Signal leads: target companies showing triggers such as funding or hiring, from 100–500 credits per lead.
- No contracts or setup: self-serve, with free samples and per-lead pricing before you buy.
- Verified data: Spona's AI cuts lead research time by 90% and states its leads are 95% accurate.
- Proven results: Qonto saw an 80% higher connect rate and Zizr tripled its outbound demo bookings.
Many teams start with Spona to prove outbound works, then add intent data once they know which accounts and topics matter.

FAQ
What is the best Bombora alternative?
It depends on what you need. 6sense and Demandbase add scoring and advertising on top of intent, G2 and TrustRadius offer review-site signals, ZoomInfo pairs its own intent with contacts, and Apollo or Common Room offer Bombora topics at a published price.
How much does Bombora cost?
Bombora doesn't publish prices. Vendr reports a median contract of $25,000 a year across 35 purchases, ranging from $13,000 to $80,450, plus onboarding fees of $5,000–$20,000.
Does 6sense use Bombora data?
Yes. 6sense lists Bombora as a partner intent source alongside TechTarget, TrustRadius, G2 and its own keyword tracking. Demandbase, Apollo, Cognism and Common Room also embed Bombora topics.
Does ZoomInfo use Bombora data?
ZoomInfo's native intent comes from its own network, and its revenue-sharing partnership with Bombora ended in early 2020. However, ZoomInfo's own 2026 blog lists ZoomInfo among tools using Bombora data, so confirm availability with your rep.
Is there a cheaper alternative to Bombora?
Yes. Apollo includes six Bombora topics on its $49-per-user Basic plan, and Common Room includes six topics on its $2,500-a-month Essential plan. These are capped allowances, not the full taxonomy.
Is G2 Buyer Intent better than Bombora?
They measure different moments. G2 shows companies comparing software on review sites, which is closer to a decision. Bombora shows earlier research across thousands of publisher sites. Software vendors often use G2 for late-stage signals and Bombora for broader coverage.
Does Bombora show which person is researching?
Not by name. Bombora's B2B personas show roles, seniority and decision-maker status within an account, but you need a separate contact source to reach those people.
