6sense vs Demandbase (2026): An Honest Comparison With the Numbers Checked

Publish date: Oct 16, 2026
6sense is the better fit if your biggest problem is knowing which accounts are in-market. Demandbase is the better fit if you already know your accounts and need to reach their buying groups with coordinated advertising. Their prices are closer than most comparisons suggest, and several popular claims about cost, free plans and setup time don't hold up.
We compared both platforms using procurement data, G2 ratings and the vendors' own statements, and flagged where widely shared numbers disagree.
The short answer
- Choose 6sense if you have a large addressable market, clean CRM history to train predictive models and a sales-led motion that acts on account scores.
- Choose Demandbase if account-based advertising is a major channel, your team runs on HubSpot or you need buying-group mapping for complex deals.
- Choose neither (yet) if you lack a dedicated operator, have fewer than a few hundred target accounts or mainly need contact data for outbound.

Pricing: Demandbase isn't the cheaper option
Neither vendor publishes prices, so the best public benchmark is Vendr's procurement data. Vendr reports a median Demandbase contract of $68,591 a year across 187 purchases, ranging from $24,000 to $164,037, with buyers saving 13% on average. For 6sense, Vendr's median is $62,440 across 385 purchases, from about $11,400 to $176,800, with average savings of 17%.

That contradicts a common claim. ContactLevel puts Demandbase's floor at about $40,000 and 6sense's at $60,000, and Origami says 6sense typically costs $100,000 or more while Demandbase starts around $50,000. Even Salesmotion's comparison page says Demandbase tends to start lower, while its own pricing guide cites Vendr data showing Demandbase's median is higher.
The honest reading, as Parsley points out, is that the medians are about 10% apart, which is within normal negotiation range. Price shouldn't decide this choice. What differs is what stacks on top:
- Demandbase: Vendr notes onboarding is usually quoted separately and advertising media is billed on top of platform fees.
- 6sense: costs concentrate in data credits, seat expansion and advertising tiers. See our 6sense pricing guide for how credits work.
Be careful with precise add-on figures. One widely cited Demandbase pricing page from Docket lists invented-looking tiers and a $29,000 onboarding fee, yet its footer says Gong doesn't publish pricing, a sign the page was templated from another vendor's guide.
Intent data: more overlap than either vendor admits
Both platforms resell intent from the same third-party sources. According to Parsley's review of each vendor's intent pages:
- 6sense names Bombora, G2, TrustRadius, PeerSpot and TechTarget as partner sources, and adds its own B2B web network across 40+ languages.
- Demandbase names Bombora Surge, G2 and TrustRadius, and adds bidstream data from its own demand-side platform (DSP): 865,000+ intent keywords and 2.1 trillion+ signals a month across 133 languages.
So when either rep says their intent data is better, part of what they're selling is the same underlying data. The useful demo question is: "Which of these signals are yours, and which are resold?"
The real difference is what each does with the data. 6sense scores accounts by predicted buying stage, trained on your closed-won and closed-lost history. Demandbase puts more weight on activating a defined account list through advertising and sales plays.
Advertising: Demandbase's clearest advantage
Demandbase runs its own B2B DSP, so targeting, serving and measuring ads happen inside the platform. Coffee notes 6sense has native advertising but relies on The Trade Desk for programmatic scale. On G2, reviewers score Demandbase One higher for account-based advertising (7.5 vs. 7.0) and campaign measurement (8.4 vs. 7.8).
If advertising is a six-figure line item for your team, Demandbase has the structural edge. If ads support a sales-led motion, the gap matters less.
Contact data and sales use
6sense says its platform covers 750M+ B2B buyer profiles and 111M+ verified business emails, according to Reply.io's summary. Demandbase's contact database, which came from its 2021 InsideView acquisition, covers 160M+ professionals across 104M+ companies.
Reviewers are mixed on 6sense's contact layer. On G2's sales intelligence comparison, 6sense Sales Intelligence scores 3.9 out of 5 versus 4.4 for Demandbase One, and "inaccurate data" is among its most-mentioned cons. Neither platform is a replacement for a dedicated contact data tool if outbound is your main motion.
What G2 reviewers say
| G2 rating (out of 10) | 6sense Revenue Marketing | Demandbase One |
| Ease of setup | 7.6 | 8.3 |
| Ease of use | 8.0 | 8.5 |
| Quality of support | 8.5 | 8.8 |
| Meets requirements | 8.2 | 8.5 |
| Product direction | 8.4 | 8.2 |
| Buyer intent data category | 8.0 | 7.8 |
| Account-based advertising category | 7.0 | 7.5 |
On G2's main comparison, 6sense Revenue Marketing scores 4.2 out of 5 from 1,561 reviews and Demandbase One scores 4.4 from 2,006. Demandbase leads on ease of setup, ease of use and support. 6sense leads on product direction and in the buyer intent data category. Some comparison pages, including Salesmotion's, still show both at 4.4.
The most common 6sense complaint is a steep learning curve. For Demandbase, it's also a learning curve, though mentioned about half as often.
Free plans and trials: neither has one now
Several current articles still say 6sense has a free plan. Artisan's August 2026 guide lists a $0 tier, and Omnitics' September update suggests piloting it. But 6sense announced that its Sales Intelligence free plan was discontinued on August 12, 2026. Demandbase has never offered a free plan or self-serve trial.
For either platform, ask for a scoped paid pilot on your own account list.
Implementation: nobody agrees
Published setup timelines vary by a factor of ten:
- Origami: 6sense 4–6 weeks; Demandbase 2–3 weeks.
- Tomba: 6sense 8–14 weeks; Demandbase 6–10 weeks.
- ContactLevel: 6sense 4–6 months; Demandbase 3–5 months.
- North Country Consulting: 8–14 weeks for both, plus 4–6 weeks for 6sense's models to train. The same article also cites 4–6 weeks for 6sense integration.
Neither vendor publishes a timeline. The practical advice from Omnitics is to get a dated go-live plan for your own instance written into the contract, and to expect one to two quarters before predictive scores are useful.
Analyst ratings: a tie
Both were named Leaders in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for ABM Platforms published in November 2025. 6sense was a Leader for the fifth consecutive year and scored highest for Ability to Execute, while Demandbase scored highest for Completeness of Vision, according to Omnitics. Both were also Leaders in Forrester's Q1 2026 Wave for Revenue Marketing Platforms, where Demandbase received the highest Strategy score.
Some articles call the November 2025 report the "2026 Magic Quadrant." Either way, analyst reports won't break the tie.
How to choose
Start with the problem you need to solve, not the feature list.

- Can you name your top 500 accounts today? If not, that's a 6sense problem. If you can but can't reach their buying groups, it's a Demandbase problem.
- Which CRM do you use? Several reviewers find 6sense integrates most deeply with Salesforce and Demandbase with HubSpot.
- Is advertising a major budget line? If yes, lean Demandbase.
- Is your CRM history clean? 6sense's predictions depend on it.
- Who will run it? Budget half to one full-time person. Without an operator, either becomes an expensive dashboard.
- What does the full first year cost? Include onboarding, seats, media, credits and the person who runs it, not just the license.

When neither fits: Spona
Both platforms tell you which accounts are researching. Neither hands reps a ready list of verified contacts to reach. If your bottleneck is outbound, Spona is a lighter way in. Spona doesn't replace an ABM platform's predictive scoring or ad network, but it gets reps talking to the right people without a six-figure contract or a quarter-long rollout:
- Chat to leads in about 4 minutes: describe your ideal customer and Spona's AI mines 40+ data sources to build a verified, scored list.
- Signal leads: target companies showing triggers such as funding or hiring, from 100–500 credits per lead.
- No contracts or setup: self-serve, with free samples and per-lead pricing before you buy.
- Verified data: Spona's AI cuts lead research time by 90% and states its leads are 95% accurate.
- Proven results: Qonto saw an 80% higher connect rate and Zizr tripled its outbound demo bookings.
Many teams start with Spona to prove an outbound motion works, then add an ABM platform once they have the target list, the sales capacity and an operator to run it.

FAQ
Is 6sense or Demandbase better?
Neither is better overall. 6sense is stronger at predicting which accounts are in-market from a large market. Demandbase is stronger at coordinated activation, especially advertising, against an account list you've already defined.
Which is cheaper, 6sense or Demandbase?
Neither publishes prices. Vendr data puts the median 6sense contract at $62,440 a year and the median Demandbase contract at $68,591, so Demandbase isn't cheaper on median spend. The roughly 10% gap is within normal negotiation range.
Does 6sense or Demandbase have a free plan?
No. 6sense discontinued its Sales Intelligence free plan on August 12, 2026, and Demandbase has no free plan or self-serve trial. Both require a sales-led evaluation.
Do 6sense and Demandbase use the same intent data?
Partly. Both resell third-party intent from sources including Bombora, G2 and TrustRadius. 6sense adds its own B2B web network and predictive models, and Demandbase adds bidstream data from its own ad platform.
Which works better with HubSpot?
Several independent reviews find Demandbase has the stronger HubSpot integration, while 6sense integrates most deeply with Salesforce. Test the specific sync you need during evaluation.
Is there a lighter alternative to 6sense and Demandbase?
Yes. If you mainly need verified leads for outbound rather than account-level intent and advertising, a self-serve lead tool like Spona builds scored lead lists in minutes with per-lead pricing and no annual contract.
How long does it take to implement 6sense or Demandbase?
Published estimates range from a few weeks to six months, and neither vendor publishes an official timeline. Ask both for a dated go-live plan and expect one to two quarters before predictive scoring becomes reliable.
