9 Clearbit Alternatives in 2026 (and What Actually Happened to Clearbit)

Clearbit Alternatives: 9 Options and What Happened to Clearbit, Spona blog cover
REVIEWER:

Publish date: Oct 15, 2026

Clearbit no longer exists as a standalone product. HubSpot acquired it in late 2023 and rebuilt it as Breeze Intelligence, a feature you can only use inside a paid HubSpot account. If your team runs Salesforce, Pipedrive or no CRM at all, you need a replacement.

There's a second problem: much of what you'll read about Clearbit's current pricing is out of date. We checked the claims against HubSpot's own documentation, and several of the most-repeated numbers describe a credit system HubSpot retired in June 2025. Below, you'll find what changed, what Breeze Intelligence really costs today and nine alternatives matched to the Clearbit job you need to replace.

What happened to Clearbit

Clearbit's free tools and standalone access were wound down in stages. According to Clearbit's own announcement, published February 13, 2025, HubSpot acquired Clearbit in December 2023 and unveiled Breeze Intelligence at INBOUND 2024.

Clearbit timeline: acquired by HubSpot December 2023, Breeze Intelligence launched at INBOUND 2024, free tools sunset April 30 2025, Breeze credits converted to HubSpot Credits June 2025, Logo API sunset December 1 2025

  • April 30, 2025: the Free Clearbit Platform, Weekly Visitor Report, TAM Calculator, Clearbit Connect and the free Slack integration were sunset.
  • June 2–15, 2025: legacy Breeze Intelligence Credits were converted into HubSpot Credits, per HubSpot's credits documentation. A 100-credit pack became 3,000 HubSpot Credits; 1,000 became 15,000; 10,000 became 125,000.
  • December 1, 2025: the Clearbit Logo API was sunset. Clearbit's announcement pointed logo users to Logo.dev.

What Breeze Intelligence costs in October 2026

Here's what HubSpot's knowledge base says now:

  • You need a paid HubSpot plan. HubSpot's enrichment guide, last updated July 10, 2026, lists data enrichment on Starter, Professional and Enterprise tiers of the main Hubs. SMARTe notes the free CRM gets no enrichment and puts the entry point at $20 per seat.
  • Basic enrichment uses no credits. The same guide states that data enrichment doesn't consume HubSpot Credits, while smart properties do.
  • Credits cost one cent. HubSpot Credits cost $0.01 each, and overages are billed in increments of 10 credits. Datamagnet's review of HubSpot's catalog lists 500 included credits a month on Starter, 3,000 on Professional and 5,000 on Enterprise.
  • Buyer intent is where credits go. Tracking one company with intent signals costs 10 credits a month, according to Datamagnet's reading of HubSpot's rate sheet. That caps a Starter account at about 50 tracked companies.
  • Credits don't roll over. They reset monthly. If you've bought extra credit packs and exceed your limit, HubSpot automatically upgrades you to a higher pack for the rest of your contract.

One more limit matters for outbound teams. SMARTe's review of HubSpot's published property list found that contact enrichment fills 14 fields, including job title, seniority and LinkedIn URL, but no email address or phone number. Contacts without a business email aren't enriched at all.

Included HubSpot Credits per month: Starter 500, Professional 3,000, Enterprise 5,000, enough to track about 50, 300 or 500 companies with buyer intent at 10 credits per company per month

The pattern is consistent: articles written before mid-2025 described per-record credit costs, and many 2026 articles still repeat them. Some pages also show internal contradictions. LeadHaste, for example, says basic enrichment is free with any paid seat, then quotes a $45 credit pack as part of the entry price. Check any number against HubSpot's documentation before you budget.

What Breeze Intelligence still does well

Before replacing it, it's worth knowing what you'd give up if you're already on HubSpot:

  • Form shortening: HubSpot checks its enrichment dataset when someone fills in a form and hides the fields it can already fill, so visitors type less.
  • Native workflows: enriched fields can trigger HubSpot workflows, lead scoring and segmentation without any integration work.
  • Continuous refresh: when continuous enrichment is on, previously enriched records are kept up to date with the latest data from HubSpot.
  • Overwrite protection: existing values are kept unless you choose to overwrite them, according to HubSpot's enrichment guide.

For inbound-heavy teams that already pay for HubSpot, that's a strong reason to keep it for firmographics. The gaps show up when you need contact details for outbound, coverage outside the US or a tool that works with another CRM.

Questions to ask any Clearbit replacement

  1. Does it work with our CRM natively, or will we rely on CSV imports?
  2. What is the match rate on our own list? Ask to test a sample of your real records, not a vendor demo set.
  3. Does it return contact emails and phone numbers, or only firmographics?
  4. How is usage priced, and do unused credits expire each month?
  5. How does it handle compliance, including opt-outs and data sources?

Which Clearbit job do you need to replace?

Clearbit did several things, and no single alternative replaces all of them:

  1. Prospecting and contact data: finding new companies and decision-makers with emails and phone numbers.
  2. CRM and form enrichment: filling firmographic fields on records you already have.
  3. Website visitor identification (Reveal): naming the companies behind anonymous traffic.
  4. API enrichment: programmatic lookups for product or data teams.
  5. Logos: the free Logo API.

Use this to narrow the list below.

The 9 best Clearbit alternatives

1. Spona: best for building verified lead lists fast

Spona replaces the prospecting side of Clearbit without any CRM requirement. You describe your ideal customer in a chat, and Spona's AI mines 40+ data sources to build a verified, scored lead list in about 4 minutes.

  • Pricing: pay-as-you-go credits at about $0.008–$0.01 each; enrichment runs 1–30 credits per record. Bulk leads cost about $0.01–$0.09 each, and qualified, scored leads about $0.32–$4.00.
  • Best for: teams that need net-new leads, including signal leads such as recently funded or hiring companies, without a contract or sales call.
  • Watch out: Spona focuses on lead generation and enrichment, not CRM features like form shortening.

2. HubSpot Breeze Intelligence: best if you already pay for HubSpot

If you're on a paid HubSpot plan, keep using it for firmographic enrichment, since it now costs no credits. Budget credits only for buyer intent and smart properties, and add a second tool for contact emails and phone numbers.

3. Apollo.io: best all-in-one database and sequencer

Apollo combines a contact database, enrichment and email sequencing. Paid plans cost $49, $79 and $119 per seat per month on annual billing, with credit pools of 30,000 to 72,000. Phone reveals use 8 credits each. See our Apollo pricing guide for details.

4. ZoomInfo: best for enterprise coverage and intent

ZoomInfo is the most complete enterprise option, with direct dials, intent data and integrations beyond HubSpot. Its Clearbit pricing page says ZoomInfo Lite is free with 10 monthly export credits. Paid contracts are custom: Vendr's median is $33,500 a year. More in our ZoomInfo pricing breakdown.

5. Clay: best for API-style, multi-source enrichment

Clay is the closest thing to Clearbit's flexible API. It queries many data providers in sequence and charges for the ones that return results. It's powerful but takes setup time. See our Clay pricing guide and our explainer on waterfall enrichment.

6. Cognism: best for European data and phone numbers

Cognism is strongest for EMEA coverage and verified mobile numbers. Pricing is quote-only with a five-seat minimum on its Standard and Pro plans; Vendr reports a median of about $32,750 a year. More in our Cognism pricing guide.

7. Lusha: best low-cost contact lookups

Lusha works as a browser extension for quick email and phone lookups. It has a free plan with 40 credits a month, and paid plans start at $37.45 a month billed yearly. Each email or phone number costs 5 credits.

8. Leadfeeder: best replacement for Clearbit Reveal

Leadfeeder, which rebranded back from Dealfront in 2026, identifies the companies visiting your website and works with CRMs beyond HubSpot. Vendr's median contract for the product is about $8,628 a year.

9. UpLead: best for simple, verified credits

UpLead sells straightforward credit plans: Essentials costs $99 a month, or $74 billed annually, for 170 credits, where one credit returns both an email and a mobile number.

For logos: if you relied on the Clearbit Logo API, Clearbit's own sunset notice recommends Logo.dev.

How to move off Clearbit or Breeze Intelligence

  1. Export enriched fields first. Enriched properties stay in HubSpot after you turn enrichment off, but they stop updating.
  2. Map fields to their new owner. Decide which tool owns firmographics and which owns emails and phone numbers, so two systems don't overwrite each other.
  3. Set credit limits if you stay on HubSpot. HubSpot lets admins cap credit use per account, per feature and, for buyer intent, per action.
  4. Review data-sharing terms. HubSpot's guide says manual or bulk enrichment can contribute limited business contact data back to its commercial dataset; continuous enrichment alone doesn't. Your legal team should review this.
  5. Test match rates on your own list. Run 200–500 known records through each shortlisted tool and compare fill rates before you sign.

FAQ

What happened to Clearbit?

HubSpot acquired Clearbit in December 2023 and relaunched its technology as Breeze Intelligence at INBOUND 2024. Clearbit's free tools were sunset on April 30, 2025, and the Logo API on December 1, 2025. It's no longer sold as a standalone product.

Is Clearbit free?

No. Breeze Intelligence requires a paid HubSpot plan. Basic contact and company enrichment doesn't consume HubSpot Credits on paid plans, but the free HubSpot CRM doesn't include enrichment.

How much does Breeze Intelligence cost?

Enrichment is included with paid HubSpot Starter, Professional and Enterprise plans. Features such as buyer intent and smart properties use HubSpot Credits at $0.01 each, with 500 to 5,000 credits included each month depending on tier.

What is the best Clearbit alternative if I don't use HubSpot?

It depends on the job. Spona and Apollo suit prospecting and contact data, Clay suits flexible multi-source enrichment, ZoomInfo suits enterprise teams and Cognism suits European data. Leadfeeder replaces Clearbit Reveal for website visitor identification.

What is the best alternative to Clearbit Reveal?

Leadfeeder identifies the companies visiting your website and works with several CRMs. If you're on HubSpot, its buyer intent feature offers similar company-level visitor identification, using HubSpot Credits.

Clearbit vs. Apollo: which is better?

They now serve different needs. Breeze Intelligence enriches records inside HubSpot, while Apollo is a standalone prospecting database with built-in sequencing and phone numbers that works with any CRM. Choose Apollo or another standalone tool if you aren't on HubSpot or need contact data for outbound.

Is Clearbit Connect still available?

No. Clearbit Connect, the free tool for finding emails, was sunset on April 30, 2025, along with the free Clearbit Platform, the Weekly Visitor Report, the TAM Calculator and the free Slack integration.
